Today we will take a look at Toronto’s East York area real estate stats. MLS district E03 will be featured and include stats from residential resale homes and condo sales during the month of March. Toronto’s East York is a very popular family oriented residential area.

East York March 2008 Average Days on Market

The average days on market dropped to 24.77 in march from 26.59 in February.

East York March 2008 Units Sold

There were 111 units sold in March. An increase of 10 units over February and an increase of 33 since January for a total of 300 units sold in 2008.

East York March 2008 Asking to Sold Ratio

Homes in E03 continued to sell for over asking with sellers on average getting 102.80% of there asking price.

East York March 2008 Average Selling Price

The average selling price for East York dropped in March to $379,786.00. This drop could be a result of smaller homes coming onto the market.

Canada Day in East York, Parade, Fair and Fireworks

As a kid, I loved Canada Day in East York. Even now, I still look forward to the celebration. This years event is right around the corner.

Sunday July 1st will mark the 50th annual Canada Day Celebration at East York’s Stan Wadlow Park. The celebrations include a Parade in the morning, Fair in the afternoon and capped off with a Fire Works presentation at night.

The Parade Starts at about 10:00 a.m. and makes it way down Coxwell Ave. to Salmon Ave., along Salmon Ave. to Woodbine Ave. Finally it goes north on Woodbine to just north of Cosburn and into Stan Wadlow Park.

At Stan Wadlow Park beginning at 10:00 a.m there is a Fair, which includes tents set up with displays from local politicians and community groups, there is area with an amusement park fully equipped with rides. There is usually a white elephant sale and food vendors.

At night there is a 15-20 minute Fireworks display. It begins at dusk.
